There comes a time in every woman’s journey when she’s called to lead not because she holds a position, but because she holds #power. Not positional power, but spiritual #authority.
That’s the kind of leadership Deborah, the prophetess and judge in the Bible, embodied. She didn’t wait for permission. She answered the call.
In this season of my life, as I pursue my Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and deepen the work of Heart Health with Tracey ReNay, I find myself returning to Deborah again and again. Her story is more than ancient history. It’s a blueprint.
What Can We Learn from Deborah?
Deborah teaches us that spiritual leadership is rooted in:
🔹 Wisdom: She didn’t speak to be heard; she spoke to be heeded.
🔹 Discernment: She saw beyond the surface and understood the assignment.
🔹 Courage: She stood up when others sat back.
🔹 Compassion: She led not with ego, but with empathy.
And most of all, she didn’t just lead she #empowered others to rise.
Why This Matters Now?
Women in midlife especially women of color, carry a depth of wisdom that systems often overlook. But like Deborah, you don’t need external validation to walk in your calling. You need alignment with God, with purpose, with your truth.
Whether you’re leading a boardroom, a classroom, a family, or a movement you are being called to lead with heart. You are the one others are waiting on to rise, so they can rise too.
How to Lead Like Deborah Today
1. Get Still. Get Clear.
Seek God first, always. Leadership without clarity is chaos.
2. Speak Truth with Boldness.
Your voice breaks cycles. Use it wisely and unapologetically.
3. Empower Others.
Spiritual leadership isn’t about control it’s about commissioning others to step fully into their own calling.
In a world that praises hustle over holiness, I’m here to remind you: you can lead with both #grace and #grit.
Your #leadership matters. Your #wisdom is needed. Your story is sacred.
